Go back to the Urchin tracker, Allan.

I realised that the GA tracker was not picking up every Ecommerce transaction and asked the Google team to help as I couldn't find any issue after modding the file to comply exactly with Google's help information.

After extensively testing everything and being nailed by me on what their help files say they admitted that the GA tracker "in extremely rare cases" does not track Ecommerce and goals correctly and that they are working on solving this issue. I was told to go back to the Urchin tracker until the issues are solved.

So not everything can be blamed on the tracking module

Cheers,
Edward

I tested GA with VM on my test site. I narrowed the problem a bit. The code (script) generated for google looks fine. It looks like it's related with the fact, that "thank you" page is displayed under /index.php name.

If you:
1. save source of that page to html file
2. re-open that page (then it's some-name.html)

then transaction is visible under GA with all the data. I hope it helps someone here solve the problem. Keep posted here. Thanks.

I use Joomla 1.0.15 and VM 1.0.15 and the module ga.js

I did not read this topic carefully before posting. Sorry. I can confirm that both original and changed mod_analytics.php works but as Edward posted - GA does not pick every transaction.

Though today it looks it started to work much better (it picked all of them for me). Changed code looks much more clean any way. Thanks to everyone here.
