Could it be that the ga.js module code is buggy 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi everybody,

I am still trying to find out why my Ecommerce tracking and funnel analysis does not work since I switched over to the ga.js code.

I switched my shop over to a sub-domain so that I can track it in one profile exactly as Google wants it.

Analysing everything in dept I now realised that the _getTracker output seems to be buggy as it appears twice and the funnel code (checkout.index.htm for example) is placed over the _initData call which Google says is wrong.

As I am having real problems adding images or code to my post please be so kind and visit this page and have a look at the source code to see what I am talking about. https://shop.buff.com.au/component/option,com_virtuemart/page,shop.browse/category_id,2/Itemid,28/

Cheers,
Edward

See my post from the other day - I think you're right, and I think I've posted a patch that fixes the issues you're seeing. It'd be great if you could try this out ...

How do I implement the changes?

I just compared the file after analysing it for a while. What tool did you use for it?

I understood the changes in the _trackPageview part but why did you change the document_write part?

Cheers,
Edward

I did't, at least not intentionally. I guess it's possible I did the diff against a different copy of the code than I'd used on my live site?

You can ignore that change, and the last one though. The other's are the important bits. It basically boils down to:
- Call _initData() first
- Add a "/" at the beginning of the virtuemart trackPageview() call
- Only call trackPageView() with no args if it's a non-virtuemart page

There's an updated diff here:

I'll keep you updated what's happening. I can't believe I went through all the trouble of changing my shop to a subdomain and now it's just a bug.
I actually wrote to Estime.fi requesting support and outlined that I am willing to pay to get this fixed. To this day I have not received any response. Makes me cranky and I am thinking of writing an appropiate review in the extension section.
Cheers,
Edward
