Help... the module installed fine, configured with no issues, and it generates the JS as it should. But GA says "tracking unknown/code not detected" when I check. The JS is almost at the very end. I am using a Rocketheme template so I can't use BOTTOM, so it's in USER8. So almost... The code is there, the UA code matches, but Google can't find it. Anyone else have this problem?

Is your Joomla site in the root folder of your site? Check, that you have configured the same url address to your Analytics profile and Joomla.

E.g. If your Joomla is under http://www.mysite.com/joomla/, and in your profile settings your url is http://www.mysite.com, remember to put your tracking code to your root directory "http://www.mysite.com/index.htm" also. Google will try to find the tracking code from the url, you have typed in your profile settings.

Also it takes 24-48 hours from Google to enable the tracking. How long has it been, since you added the code?

I'm having the same problem.

Here's the situation:
1. My site is installed in the root directory : www.dreamweaverbeginnertips.com
2. I've set the default page to index.php
3. I published the module in debug position
4. When I view the source code of index.php I can see the analytics tracking script.
5. All the values are correct
6. Google is telling me the tracking script has not been detected.

Any suggestions?

Are you still having same problem?

The error you described, is not related to you module really, but please check the following:

1. Try to press "Check status" link more than once. It will take a while, before Google reads your page source again.

2. Check, that you have filled all the information to the profile settings of Google Analytics, check, that your default page is index.php in the profile settins. Check, that your domain url is correct.

Yep, I'm still having the same problem.

I've tried setting it up on another joomla site and that one works.

For some reason this site just simply isn't working. I've gone thorugh every step, step by step and compared the two site setups both in google and in the joomla sites.

One works and the other just keeps coming up as "Tracking Code not Verified"

I don't know why.

any suggestions please?

Problem solved.

No idea what was actually wrong. I just simply deleted the profile for that website in google, create a new one and pasted in the new tracking code and everything worked fine!
