I of course use joomla and virtuemart, but there is no breadcrumb navigation which i feel is absolutely necessary in getting around the pages and what i have in the shop.

is anyone able to tell me of a way to write the code or whatever is needed for this please (in very plain english)?

Here is an example page from my shop (i havent got many products actually in there yet ) but the breadcrumb for this link would read

shop > adhesives/glue > pva glue

Edit your template index.php file and add a call for mosPathWay(); for the proper place or download a module, which makes the breadcrumbs.
