"I am trying to make some simple changes to the template. Each time I try to rename a file or add a file I get 'permission denied'. I cant seem to make any changes to the files. Can you tell me why this is ?" The problem is not actually template related. Check your server settings (E.g. chmod 777). Use either ftp or joomlaXplorer to change this or contact your hosting provider.
